چکیده

We argue that in strongly correlated electron system collective instanton excitations of the phase field (dual to the charge) arise with a great degree of stability, governed by gauge flux changes by an integer multiple of 2π. By unraveling consequences of the non-trivial topology of the charge gauge U(1) group, we found that the pinning of μ and the zero-temperature divergence of charge compressibility κ ∼ ∂ne/∂μ defines novel “hidden” quantum criticality on verge of the Mott transition governed by the protectorate of stable topological numbers rather than Landau paradigm of the symmetry breaking.

Fermi Surface Reconstruction due to Hidden Rotating Antiferromagnetism in N and P-Type High-TC Cuprates

The Fermi surface calculated within the rotating antiferromagnetism theory undergoes a topological change when doping changes from p-type to n-type, in qualitative agreement with experimental data for n-type cuprate Nd2−xCexCuO4 and p-type La2−xSrxCuO4. Also, the reconstruction of the Fermi surface, observed experimentally close to optimal doping in p-type cuprates, and slightly higher than opt...

Topological Criticality on Brink of the Mott Transition in High-Tc Superconductors

The concept of topological excitations and the related ground state degeneracy are employed to establish an effective theory of the superconducting state evolving from the Mott insulator for high-Tc cuprates. The theory includes the effects of the relevant energy scales with the emphasis on the Coulomb interaction U governed by the electromagnetic U(1) compact group. The results are obtained fo...

Pressure-induced electronic topological transitions in low dimensional superconductors

The high-Tc cuprate superconductors are characterized by a quasitwo-dimensional layered structure where most of the physics relevant for high-Tc superconductivity is believed to take place. In such compounds, the unusual dependence of critical temperature Tc on external pressure results from the combination of the nonmonotonic dependence of Tc on hole doping or hole-doping distribution among in...

Quantum-critical theory of the spin- fermion model and its application to cuprates: Normal state analysis

We present the full analysis of the normal state properties of the spin–fermion model near the antiferromagnetic instability in two dimensions. The model describes low-energy fermions interacting with their own collective spin fluctuations, which soften at the antiferromagnetic transition. We argue that in 2D, the system has two typical energies—an effective spin–fermion interaction g and an en...

MECHANISM OF HIGH-Tc SUPERCONDUCTIVITY BASED MAINLY ON TUNNELING MEASUREMENTS IN CUPRATES∗

The main purpose of this brief review is to present a sketch of the mechanism of high-Tc superconductivity based mainly on tunneling measurements in cuprates. In the review, we shall mostly discuss tunneling spectroscopy in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8. Analysis of the data shows that the Cooper pairs in cuprates are topological excitations (e.g. quasi-one dimensional bisolitons, discrete breathers etc.), and...
